On January 4th, 2017 I flew back to Los Angeles with a rescue named Ginger. Having been a companion to a dog that ate his kibble she followed his example and ate enough kibble to stay alive, but lived with watery stools. When I was a kid we fed our dog Ken-L-Ration, horsemeat in a can, but they don't make Ken-L-Ration anymore because overcooked, carbo-nuggets are more profitable. Without Ginger's kibble-eating companion to set the example she would no longer eat kibble. My search for healthy food Ginger led me to the documentary, Pet Fooled, which introduced me to species-appropriate food for pets. After weeks of research and experimentation, I created a recipe referencing the PMR (Prey Model Raw) diet. It was designed to deliver the full range of essential nutrients a dog (or cat) needs and was based on the food native people fed their long-lived dogs. Our meals use only 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised and wild ungulate parts, plus whole ground rabbit. They have proven to added muscle, refine body definition, reduce shedding, sweeten breath, deliver firm, healthy stools and help maintain optimal health. In 2022 Rawsome Meals won two international awards for being the #1 most innovative pet meals.
